During the procedure, large volumes of fluids, often referred to as tumescent solution, comprising saline and anesthetic agents, are injected to facilitate fat removal and limit bleeding. This introduction of fluids can lead to fluid overload, causing diuretic strain on the kidneys as they work to maintain homeostasis and excrete excess volume.
